FAQ

Unity VFX tutorial questions

Are Eric VFX Studio’s Unity VFX tutorials free?

Yes. All 57 tutorials on this page are free to watch on YouTube. The Unity Particle System course is a separate paid course with 26 videos and 10 practical cases.

What is the difference between the Particle System and VFX Graph tutorials?

Particle System tutorials build effects with Unity’s CPU-based Particle System, which is edited module by module in the Inspector. VFX Graph tutorials use Unity’s node-based, GPU-driven Visual Effect Graph for large particle counts, and most were recorded in HDRP or URP projects.

Do the older tutorials still work in current Unity versions?

The techniques still apply, but the Unity interface has changed. The 2017–2019 tutorials were recorded in Unity 5.6 and 2017, and some use Shader Forge, which newer Unity versions replace with Shader Graph.

Can I get the finished effects from the tutorials?

Many tutorials cover an effect that is also sold as an Eric VFX Studio pack. When a matching product exists, the tutorial card links to its product page.
