Single texture saves a grayscale PNG. RGBA pack saves one PNG with a different noise in each channel. Large sizes can take a few seconds.

Free Seamless Noise Texture Generator for Game VFX

This free noise texture generator makes seamless, tileable noise textures for game VFX shaders: Perlin noise, ridged noise, turbulence, Voronoi cells and edges, and domain warp. Use them for dissolve effects, UV distortion, fire, smoke, energy, and scrolling magic. Everything runs in your browser and exports a PNG up to 2048 × 2048.

Which noise type to use

How to make a noise texture

  1. Pick a Preset or a noise Type, then adjust Scale, Detail, and Contrast. Click Randomize for a new variation.
  2. Turn on Tile 2×2 to check that it repeats without seams, and Dissolve preview to see it as a dissolve mask.
  3. For several noises in one texture, switch to RGBA pack and set up the R, G, B, and A channels separately.
  4. Choose a size and click Download PNG.

How to use a noise texture in Unity

  1. In the texture import settings, turn off sRGB (Color Texture) so the values are read as data, and set Wrap Mode to Repeat. For an RGBA pack, set Alpha Source to Input Texture Alpha.
  2. In Shader Graph, read it with Sample Texture 2D. Use a Tiling And Offset node driven by Time to scroll it.
  3. For a dissolve, compare the noise with a threshold (for example with a Step node) and feed the result into Alpha with Alpha Clipping on. Add a thin glowing edge just above the threshold.
  4. For distortion, add the noise to the UVs of your main texture. For an RGBA pack, take each channel from the R, G, B, and A outputs of the sample node.

Effects that use noise textures

FAQ

Is the noise texture generator free?

Yes. It is free to use, with no account and no watermark. You can use the generated textures in commercial games and projects.

Are the noise textures seamless?

Yes. Every noise type is generated to tile seamlessly, so the texture can repeat or scroll in a shader without visible seams. Turn on Tile 2×2 in the preview to check.

Which noise should I use for a dissolve effect?

Perlin noise gives soft, organic dissolves, Voronoi edges give cracked or shattered dissolves, and domain warp gives swirling, magical ones. Turn on Dissolve preview to see how the texture will cut away.

What is an RGBA channel pack?

It stores four different grayscale noises in the red, green, blue, and alpha channels of one PNG. A shader can read each channel separately, so you get four noise textures for the cost of one texture sample.

How do I import the noise texture in Unity?

Turn off sRGB (Color Texture) so the values are read as data, set Wrap Mode to Repeat for seamless tiling, and for an RGBA pack set Alpha Source to Input Texture Alpha. Then sample it in Shader Graph with Sample Texture 2D.

Is this the same as the Noise module in the Particle System?

No. The Particle System Noise module moves particles with procedural noise. This tool makes noise textures for materials and shaders, such as dissolves, distortion, and scrolling energy.
